Danse-théâtre Japon
Show
10 October 2024
In this show the artist links Death to Life, a perpetual passage from Nothingness to Life and from Life to Nothingness.
The metamorphosis of these states is transcribed by a play of masks and costumes, by a slowness and an extreme speed of the movements, a total stripping of the Form, of the Formal, to arrive at the deep Being.
The dancer does not seek to generate particular emotional states, he transcends them. A relationship of respect and listening is then born between the dancer and the audience.
For more than an hour, theater, classical and contemporary music intermingle and surprise. This dance of life, imbued with Buddhism and Shinto beliefs, is closer to performance than to a Western choreography. It deeply affects the spectator and does not leave him indifferent. It invites him to live in his own flesh the inner world of the dancer.
Adaptation of the music of Pierre Henry, Maria Callas and Gustav Mahler.
