Exposition : Outils, entre art et science

From 21 June to 22 September 2024

This exhibition, halfway between art and science, takes a fresh look at the collections of tools discovered on the Terra Amata site in 1966.

In this exhibition, François Mauplot takes us on a journey through a gallery of portraits of prehistoric carved stone tools from 400,000 years ago.

As in the purest tradition of portraiture, photography takes over from drawing, and François Mauplot wanted to confront the two aspects of the representation of the prehistoric object by juxtaposing scientific drawing with fine art photography.

Are the two representations of the same object in conflict, are they opposed?
