Organised by the association la Semeuse since 2014, the Nice Commedia dell'arte Festival offers to come and enjoy a traditional and popular theatrical art born in Italy in the 16th century, based on gesture, posture, words and mask.
Acrobatics, juggling, fencing, mime, singing and dancing will take place at the Centre Culturel de la Providence, at the Francis Gag Theatre, on the hill of the Castle, in the districts of Vieux-Nice, Las Planas, Bon Voyage, Ariane and in Peillon.
This year, La Semeuse invites you to rediscover classics such as Molière's L'Avare, but above all various forms of contemporary commedia dell'arte. To the delight of all, great masters of commedia dell'arte will be invited, such as Carlo Boso, Antonio Fava and Enrico Bonavera. Works in French and Italian. About fifty artists from all over Europe. Popular' theatre, but demanding in its content and technique.
