Choreographer Pierre Rigal achieves a tour de force: capturing chance. On stage, six dancers, like the six faces of a die, play along with a shifting and random scene.

Bodies appear and disappear, multiplying combinations of movement, playing with algorithms... until chaos ensues. From situations interwoven with the unexpected, coincidences, and chance, an unexpected poetry emerges, sweeping us away on a fascinating journey into the heart of dance's magic.

THE INTENTION
Chance can trigger wars or fits of laughter… What is certain is that it disrupts our lives. We observe chaotic phenomena in nature, in chemistry, in sociology, or in mathematics—that is to say, extremely complex ones. They are so complex that their prediction seems impossible, and yet, ultimately, they can organize themselves into a perfectly structured and ordered form.
And then, in our personal lives, we observe or experience, with wonder or even dread, incredible "chance situations." These completely improbable coinfidences can sometimes turn an entire life upside down. Some physicists or shamans call these phenomena synchronicities… like dances of chance.
In the piece Chance, I therefore wish to play with all these paradoxes and dizzying sensations. I envision this piece as a gestural metaphor for the crucial coincidences of life.
