Saint Anne chapel

A 15th-century religious building, a witness to the Baroque period.

Three large panels illustrate the life of Saint Anne, patron saint of the village. They are framed by painted pilasters and covered with faux marble, examples of architectural trompe l'oeil art. This chapel belongs to the White Penitents, a brotherhood of lay men and women whose mission is to help the poor and sick and to provide free burial services.
The feast of Saint Anne on 26 July is one of the main patron saint festivals that punctuate village life. Every year, the inhabitants made a pilgrimage to the sanctuary of Saint Anne in Vinadio, thus maintaining a close link with Italy.
