La recherche sur les environnements marins, atouts et savoir-faire de notre région – Conférence dans le cadre des journées “Vues Mer”
Conference
08 February 2025
Conference hosted by Cécile Guieu, Karin Sigloch and Alexandre Dano. As part of the "Sea Views" days.
Scientists Karin Sigloch (Research Director at CNRS, Géoazur laboratory, Sophia Antipolis, Chair of Excellence, Université Côte d'Azur), Cécile Guieu (Research Director at CNRS, Oceanography Laboratory of Villefranche) and Alexandre Dano (Technical Delegate of the Géoazur laboratory, Study Engineer at CNRS), all three based in the Alpes-Maritimes and specialists in marine environments, will take you on three renowned expeditions:
RHUM-RUM, a project on volcanic movements under Reunion Island and in the Indian Ocean, TONGA, studying the impact of Pacific submarine volcanoes on biological activity on the surface of the oceans, and AMAGAS, seeking to better understand the presence of gas in submarine sediments and their role in submarine landslides. These projects may seem difficult to understand for the uninitiated, but thanks to the teaching and popularization skills of our three researchers, research on the seabed in the Alpes-Maritimes will no longer hold any secrets for you!
