Le procès de Jeanne

Theatre

From 04 to 06 February 2026

Yves Beaunesne and Judith Chemla bring this historic trial back to life, an incredible testament to the freedom of expression, insolence, strength and humor of Joan of Arc, who preferred to die rather than lie.

Nearly six centuries after her death, the young peasant girl still embodies a steadfast symbol of resistance and courage.

Through a work that blends theater, music, song, and video, the artists immerse us in the accusations of heresy and witchcraft leveled against the Maid of Orléans in the spring of 1431 in Rouen. Drawing on the authentic minutes of her trial, Judith Chemla and Yves Beaunesne return to the heart of her life and reveal the modernity of this 15th-century text. A disturbing echo of the denial of women's voices in our time.
