“Hell” district and rue Saint Lambert

The quarter known as ‘Hell’ in the Middle Ages

At the corner of the entrance to a courtyard, a cippus erected by the City to Publius Cornelius Licinus recalls the stay of the son of the Emperor Gallien and his mother Salonine in Vence in the 3rd century. Rue Saint-Lambert bears the name of one of the bishops of Vence. At no. 5, you can see the Maison de la Vieille Audience, and at no. 7, a restored house with arched windows and coats of arms.
