The exhibition is part of the Musée des Beaux-Arts' ongoing multi-annual programme, which explores the reality and quality of the artistic scene in Nice, a cosmopolitan city by excellence during the Belle Epoque.
The opportunity to carry out a project on this scale arose from the Musée d'Orsay's "150 Years of Impressionism" initiative, linked to the exhibition Paris 1874: Inventing Impressionism, celebrating this key anniversary date.
