Walk along the legendary Promenade des Anglais
There are so many places to visit in Nice, but if there is one place that cannot be ignored, it is the famous Promenade des Anglais. Offering a unique panorama of the Baie des Anges, the Promenade des Anglais, with its mythical blue chairs, is strewn, over 7 kilometres, with palm trees shading the resplendent hotels and palaces of Nice, such as the Negresco or the Palais de la Méditerranée.
Fall under the spell of Old Nice
Vieux-Nice is, in itself, a festival of sensations! Narrow streets, yellow and ochre facades, craftsmen’s shops and small businesses, restaurants and lively squares make up the soul of this old quarter, which is alive both day and night, not forgetting, of course, the Cours Saleya market, classified as one of the exceptional markets in France! From the top of the listed site of the Castle hill, you can enjoy a remarkable view of the Baie des Anges, the old town and the port.
Discovering a Unesco listed heritage
The centre of Nice has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since July 2021 under the title “Nice, winter resort town of the Riviera”. This inscription concerns 522 hectares which include the Promenade des Anglais, Place Garibaldi, part of the old town, the Port of Nice, the Castle hill, as well as the bourgeois districts of Cimiez, Coco Beach and Mont-Boron where architectural follies, castles, exuberant villas and Belle Époque residences flourished in the last centuries.
Fill up on culture
Artists have always been fascinated by the light and colours of Nice. Many have made the Côte d’Azur their home, bringing with them all the different currents of pictorial art in their immense diversity. Take advantage of your stay in Nice to visit the museums and galleries and the prestigious collections of Matisse, Chagall and the famous École de Nice. Museums, galleries, open-air exhibitions… Get your fill of art!
Go on a culinary journey
Nice Côte d’Azur, a territory you will love to explore as well as to taste!
Fresh salads, grilled fish, seasonal vegetables, local wine… Nice’s cuisine is above all a simple and sunny cuisine that honours the products of its land. Among the many experiences to be had in Nice, don’t miss the tasting of Nice’s cuisine. Valued and protected by the “Cuisine Nissarde, respect for tradition” label, Nice’s gastronomy is now part of France’s intangible cultural heritage and is the subject of an application for inclusion in UNESCO’s Inventory of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity. This cuisine also favours short cycles and local products. All the diversity of this local cuisine can be savoured in a small bistro, a large table or on the terrace, accompanied by a view of the port or Old Nice. And what better way to learn about Nice’s cuisine than to take a course with a chef?
Pedal in freedom
Cycling around Nice is now a breeze! With its 125 km of cycling facilities, Nice Côte d’Azur opens the way to discovery and wonder. Ride along the Baie des Anges for miles, cross the tourist centre at your own pace and let yourself be charmed by the panorama and the rich heritage of Nice. The bicycle revolution is underway… and is waiting for you!
Adopt the Zen attitude
After a beautiful day full of discoveries, visits or shopping, what could be better than a spa or a massage to recharge your “batteries”? Alone or as a couple, let yourself be pampered in one of the many temples of relaxation that this exceptional region offers. The most beautiful hotels and palaces open the door to their relaxation areas. Heated pools, hammam, jacuzzi, yoga or fitness, stretching, reflexology, herbal tea… Everyone is there to make you feel good. Surrender to the expert hands that lavish you with excellent body and face treatments. You will be taken care of, massaged and pampered…
Living in nature in the middle of the city
The city of Nice has its own natural bubbles. The Castle hill, an immense green park suspended over the Baie des Anges, the Mont Boron or the garden of the Arènes de Cimiez, but also the Promenade du Paillon, an essential place to stroll in the centre of Nice.
Near the airport, the Phoenix Park offers a floral stroll through more than 2,500 species of plants and one of the largest greenhouses in Europe with six different tropical climates. The park is also home to many animals (birds, crocodiles, iguanas, pelicans, etc.).
On the coastal path, you can enjoy breathtaking views and panoramas in shades of blue and green. You will overlook small creeks with crystal clear waters that make you want to dive in for more than a glance… Hiking enthusiasts can follow the signs of the “Lou Camin Nissart” long-distance hiking trail, a 42 km route through vineyards, forests and olive groves.
