Festival Opus Opéra

For thirty-four years now, volunteers, renewed over the years under the impetus of successive presidents: Pierre Guillet de Monthoux, Jean-Claude Pinto, Maurice Jakubowicz and Élisabeth Blanc have kept the initial momentum going, organising an annual lyric art workshop culminating in the presentation of a work in the heart of the village. The association relies on a number of established artists to mentor young talent and help them to put on a full-scale opera show that also involves the villagers.

For 2024, a new team of volunteers dedicated to the cause of opera has decided to give a new impetus to the Opus-Opera Festival, and has secured the enthusiastic collaboration of some particularly promising young singers to present a work of opera as part of the celebrations marking the centenary of Puccini's death, in this case La Rondine, created in 1917 at the Monte-Carlo Opera, with one of the final scenes set on the Côte d'Azur.
