Saint Peter’s and the Sea Festival
From 05 to 06 July 2025
For 24 years, the town of Cagnes-sur-Mer and the Amicale San Peïre dei Pescadou dou Cros have joined forces to celebrate the Feast of St Peter and the Sea.
Originally, this was the traditional fishermen's festival: on this occasion, they would go to the Chapelle du Cros in procession to pray to Saint Peter to make their fishing more fruitful.
Tradition also dictated that the poorest fisherman's boat would be burnt and the village would contribute to providing him with a new boat, amidst songs, dances and celebrations.
