JE VAIS T'AIMER is a creation in the pure Broadway tradition.
Audiences were totally won over, and the press dubbed it a "Mamma Mia" à la française.
It's the story of six young Frenchmen who recount their loves and friendships to the rhythm of Michel Sardou's greatest hits: En chantant, La java de Broadway, Les lacs du Connemara, Les vieux mariés, Être une femme, La rivière de notre enfance... Over 25 songs from his exceptional repertoire.
The troupe of singers, dancers and actors take you from the Port of Le Havre to New York, aboard the legendary liner "France", where their destinies intersect with those of a country. From a social revolt to the American dream, from a guinguette on the banks of the Marne to the infectious energy of Broadway, from the charm of an Irish wedding to the soft colors of Ghardaïa, you travel through four decades, from the Kennedy years to the early 2000s.
World-renowned Quebec director and author Serge Denoncourt has staged more than 150 productions on every continent, including plays, operas, pop concerts and musicals. The set design is by Stéphane Roy, one of Canada's leading designers.
And it's thanks to the talent of Nicolas Vaudelet, trained by some of the biggest names in fashion, that the characters will evolve in 180 costumes.
