Khachaturian's Violin Concerto, between fiery rhythms and ardent lyricism, is known for its dazzling virtuosity inspired by Armenian melodies. Opposite it, Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5, a masterpiece of tension and ambiguity, oscillates between grandeur and tragic irony, reflecting the torments of a composer now under the surveillance of the Stalinist regime...
