From its height of 696 m, Fort de la Revère enjoys a breathtaking view of the old village of Eze and the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula. It's a much-appreciated place for strolling and discovery within the Parc départemental de la Grande Corniche.
Built on a strategic site overlooking the entire coastline from Italy to the Estérel massif, this former military structure is part of a series of fortifications built around Nice after the defeat of 1870, according to the defense system established by General Séré de Rivières. Occupied for many years, it was acquired by the Alpes-Maritimes departmental council in 1995.
At the heart of the Grande Corniche departmental park and just a few minutes from the Maison de la Nature, it is now a popular destination for hikers, who can reach it in less than a 2-hour walk from the village of Eze. Three trails around the fort, focusing on botanical, historical and geological treasures, enhance the discovery of the site.
