Under the direction of conductor Aurélien Azan Zielinski, the Yellow Socks Orchestra & Choir—a French symphony orchestra specializing in film music—will perform live the greatest scores of the genius composer Joe Hisaishi.
For over two hours, immerse yourself in the musical world of these animated masterpieces, born from the imagination of two friends who have collaborated for over 30 years, Hayao Miyazaki and Joe Hisaishi.

Yellow Socks Orchestra & Choir
The Yellow Socks Orchestra is a French symphony orchestra specializing in film music. It was founded in 2017 by the production company uGo&Play and is under the musical direction of Nicolas Simon. The Yellow Socks Orchestra performs in numerous film concerts throughout France: Jurassic Park, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, La La Land, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Azur and Asmar, The Chorus… and the Harry Potter film series.
Recently, the orchestra performed the music of the immense Michel Legrand (who conducted the orchestra in 2017 for the 50th anniversary of Les Demoiselles de Rochefort) for the world premiere of the film concert of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, and that of Bruno Coulais for the film concert of Microcosmos. Both shows took place at the Philharmonie de Paris.
Under the exceptional direction of Joe Hisaishi, the Yellow Socks Orchestra also performed—with 250 musicians on stage—the most beautiful music from the world of Hayao Miyazaki (Studio Ghibli).
It was also conducted by American composer Justin Hurwitz for four sold-out performances of the La La Land film concert at the Grand Rex in Paris.
The orchestra also performs programs featuring the works of renowned composers such as John Williams and Hans Zimmer, who have provided unforgettable film scores, as well as artists from the world of manga and anime with Manga Symphonic Odyssey.
Since 2018, talented choristers have joined the lineup under the name Yellow Socks Choir. They have accompanied the orchestra at numerous film concerts, as well as Joe Hisaishi and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London for the Japanese composer's two sold-out concerts at the Paris La Défense Arena in April 2024.
