Marcos Marin, born in Brazil on 12 September 1967, lives and works in Monaco. From 1990, intrigued by the work of Vasarely, Marcos embarked with success on the adventure of 'Optical Art': Fiat Prize, Turin; Philips Prize, New York. In 2000 he moved to Miami in the USA, where he set up his workshop and created, in 2003, his first monumental sculpture. In 2004 he exhibited in Monaco, in particular a portrait of Princess Grace, now the new museum of Monaco. In 2006 he responded to a commission by Prince Albert: the design of the official monument dedicated to his father, and thus created a monumental work. The same year, Marcos received the support of the stylist and patron, Pierre Cardin.
