Mozart and Schubert, at the turning point of Classicism, paved the way for Romanticism. With Raphaëlle Moreau on violin for Mozart's famous Concerto No. 5, this concert will also unveil Schubert's Unfinished Symphony No. 7.
Mozart's celebrated Violin Concerto No. 5, which has rapidly established itself as one of the great jewels of the violin repertoire, is no longer in the limelight, but Schubert's Symphony No. 7 is a new discovery. Thomas Rösner uses the version recently orchestrated by Austrian composer Richard Dünser to plunge us into the very special world of these pages which, it is clear, mark a real turning point in Schubert's career and herald the flamboyance of his last years. After Austria and Italy, Nice will have the honour of giving the French premiere!
