Usine Laboratoire Fragonard

At the foot of the Baroque church, just a few steps from the village square, the factory and cosmetics laboratory offer free guided tours. And there's a breathtaking sea view to boot!

Inaugurated in 1968 and located on the legendary Riviera corniche between Nice and Monaco, it enjoys a privileged position at the foot of the rock, overlooking the sea.
You can visit the laboratories and learn about the distillation, hot and cold enfleurage and modern techniques such as volatile solvent extraction and supercritical carbon dioxide extraction. The secrets of the perfumer are revealed because, like a musician, he composes his perfumes in front of an organ, a piece of furniture on which are placed all the bottles of essences he will need. A perfume is made up of a chord, which is a combination of several notes (woody chord, chypre chord, fruity notes, floral notes). The factory has a soap-making workshop, where rose and duck soaps are made.
Made from neutral soap granules manufactured in France, Fragonard soaps are scented and shaped in our factories. The process follows several stages: the kneading machine, the crushing machine and the plodder. The resulting pieces are cut into sections and then 'hit' by a press to give the soap its final shape.
Finally, the cosmetics laboratory: in the 1960s, Maison Fragonard began developing its first ranges of cosmetics and skincare products. Shower gels, body lotions, creams... These products are manufactured in the factory workshops in Eze-village and are scented with the fragrances of the Fragonard collections. The formulation laboratory is supervised by Doctor Anne Costa.
