Va aimer ! – Eva Rami
One man Show / One woman show
26 September 2025
In this third one-woman show, Eva Rami prioritizes women. Like a chorus, her mother, grandmothers, friends, and a host of other characters accompany the heroine on her journey and her questions.
With varying degrees of tact, but all driven by a stifling affection, these women connect their own stories to Elsa's.
After FLY!, which explored the transition from adolescence to adulthood, and then YOU'RE YOU!, which focused on self-affirmation, VA LOVE! devotes its plot to love and different forms of control.
Around the highly symbolic motif of the caged bird, the play weaves a web of stories all sharing the common thread of the confinement of women who experience or have experienced assaults that prevent them from peacefully taking flight. With finesse and humor, the themes of control, rape, and incest are addressed amidst a fireworks display of words, songs, and anecdotes. With VA LOVE!, Eva Rami does justice to those who don't know how to free themselves and dare to love again.
