In the heart of the lower part of the village, a visit to the church is a must. As soon as you enter, the richness of its gilded and coloured wooden altar catches your eye. The highlight of the visit: the paintings by Ludovic and François Bréa.
Initially dedicated to Notre-Dame de l'Assomption, this baroque church in the county of Nice was placed under the protection of Saint Rosalie in 1631 after a terrible plague epidemic.
The first building of medieval origin had a central nave and an apse. Rebuilt in the 16th century, a north aisle was added in 1722, as the date on the lintel of the main portal shows. Seven decades later, the parish priest Maurice Doneudi added another side wall to the south, covering part of the cemetery and adjoining the bell tower. After several transformations over the centuries, it is now presented in a homogeneous form with a basilical plan.
Restored between 2004 and 2013, both inside and out, the church has now regained its former splendour and contains many masterpieces.
